Meet CREW Pittsburgh Member, Linda Hindmarch, FireDEX / BMS CAT!

What role do you play in the commercial real estate industry? 

I am a vendor partner – I work with many commercial real estate clients, providing them restoration services.  My goal is to build a relationship with the client so that if they have an unfortunate incident occur, they come to me, because we have already set up a plan to make sure that we are ready to tackle any issues quickly and efficiently. 

How did you get started in your current position? 

I have a great background in sales in the multi-family, hotel and senior-living verticals.  I also have a lot of networking experience – so I felt this would position would be a good fit for my skill set.  

What are your interests and/or hobbies outside of work?

I spend a ton of time on the water, we have boats on the Monongahela River and at Lake Canadohta and we spend most weekends on one of the boats during the summer.  I love to cook, read, kickbox and spend time with my 3 adorable grandsons. 

Where is your favorite place to go out in Pittsburgh (Strip District, zoo, cultural district, etc.)? 

I love the Aviary and I also really enjoy a day at the Frick Museum or Phipps Conservatory. 

What personal values have shaped your career? 

I think always being honest and upfront, admitting when I have made a mistake and really listening to what your clients needs and concerns are. 

​What are you hoping to achieve with your CREW membership?

Growing my relationships with women in the industry and helping to connect them with other individuals that can assist them in the needs and grow their network. 

What is the best professional and/or personal advice you have received and/or given?

Wake up and embrace the day – you will have a good and bad days – but learn from the bad and celebrate the good ones! 

How do you achieve balance between work and home life?

My position allows me some flexibility – so I look at each month and make sure I carve out enough time to spend with those that I love while still being front and center for important networking events and client’s needs. 

Where have you travelled?  Where do you wish to travel? 

I have been to a lot of major cities and beach resorts throughout the United States.  I have also been to Mexico and the Domincan Republic.  I would love to travel to Italy and Greece. 

Do you have any pets?  What kind  and what are their name(s)? 

Yes a hurricane rescue dog from Puerto Rico – not sure of the breed his name is Waldo.
